The Hollywood Reporter Poll Finds 'Glee,' 'Modern Family,' 'The New Normal' Drive Voters to Favor Marriage Equality

An October 29 poll conducted by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) in conjunction with Penn Schoen Berland has found that series with LGBT characters such as Glee, Modern Family and The New Normal are helping drive voters to historically unprecedented levels of support of marriage equality.

Your vote might determine the future of LGBT equality

Tomorrow, November 6, is Election Day. Unless you have voted early, or sent in your absentee ballot, we need you to vote. Our elected officials determine the future of LGBT equality for years to come, whether it is a local non-discrimination ordinance, a police force that understands the lives of LGBT people, statewide hate crime legislation, or the federal Defense of Marriage Act.


Madonna Supports the Freedom to Marry

Madonna took to the stage at the Xcel Center [in St. Paul, Minnesota] last night to urge fans to Vote No on the Minnesota Marriage Amendment.

"We are a Democracy and we should have the freedom to choose who we want to marry!" the Material Girl screamed, before enjoining the crowd in a call and response. "Did you hear what I said? Are you going to vote no? Are you going to vote no?"

Grand Forks Herald Urges Minnesotans to Vote NO

On Tuesday, conservatives in Minnesota are hoping to put the contentious issue of marriage beyond reach. Like the court, they’re using coercion first — using a constitution to rob opponents of power — and hoping persuasion will follow.

Though America seems riven along party lines, the U.S. Constitution and the constitutions of each state are bulwarks of stability. They’re solid ground, not battlegrounds. Let’s keep it that way. Vote no.
