With new Latter-day Saint Web site, a gay Mormon moment

"In my opinion, the Web site will have only reached its full value when we finally see LGBT Mormons feel welcome in every LDS ward around the globe. In my dream, I see them contributing their talents and gifts with their ward community and I see straight members opening up their homes to them. I see the gay couple sitting together in the pews with a straight couple next to them, while both couple’s children crawl around together below the pew.

Gay-themed group denied charter and Point Loma Nazarene University

Some students at Point Loma Nazarene University are calling for change after a failed attempt to form a gay-themed student group. Point Loma Nazarene senior Sean Lewis, who is openly gay, said he and others often feel unwelcome on campus. "I've gotten messages on Facebook ... warning me that I'm going to hell," said Lewis. The school is associated with the Church of the Nazarene, an evangelical Christian denomination. To lessen that angst among gay students, Lewis recently spearheaded a campaign to begin a gay-themed discussion group.

Uganda: Londoners Protest Anti-Gay Bill

In what appears to be continued foreign pressure on the Ugandan MPs to ditch the controversial anti-gay bill, dozens of gay activists again stormed the Ugandan embassy in London on Monday protesting what they termed as the 'world's most harsh and comprehensively homophobic law'.
