Ebony has released a list of 10 rising stars in the Black LGBT community, and GLAAD followers will recognize several names on the list. GLAAD's own Senior Strategist, Tiq Milan was included on this year's list for his advocacy for transgender people, people of color, and youth.

Utah Attorney General to appeal marriage ruling to Supreme Court

Utah's Attorney General, Sean Reyes, has announced his office will appeal the 10th Circuit Court’s decision last month upholding marriage equality to the U.S. Supreme Court. That circuit decision found that any state ban on marriage equality violated the Fourteenth Amendment rights of same-sex couples to equal protection and due process. It was the first circuit ruling against marriage bans.

LGBT-inclusive Dragon Boat team to compete in Montgomery, Alabama

Dragon Boat racing is the fastest growing aquatic sport in the world. It usually consists of 20 paddlers, a cox and a drummer who sits in front of the boat. A Different Stroke is one of the teams competing in Montgomery, Alabama, raising money so that the world can be a better place for the LGBT community.
