In its December issue (now on newsstands nationwide) Out magazine published its annual Out100, recognizing the 100 most influential people in gay culture -- spanning categories such as books, business, fashion, film, media, music, politics, performance, television and the visual arts. Among 2006's Out100, in the Politics, Media and Business category, is GLAAD President Neil Giuliano.

Also included in the 2006 Out100 are Kevin Aviance; New York City council speaker Christine Quinn; Richard Glatzer, Wash Westmoreland and Anne Clements (creators of Quinceañera); bloggers Keith Boykin, Andy Towle and David Hauslaib; Martina Navratilova; Pedro Almodovar; Augusten Burroughs (author of Running with Scissors), and many others.

Out also recognized five celebrities for their commitment to LGBT equality at the 2006 Out100 Awards. This year's honorees include Iman (Humanitarian of the Year), Rufus Wainwright (Entertainer of the Year), Anne Hathaway (Ingénue of the Year), Michael Kors (Stylemaker of the Year) and John Cameron Mitchell (Artist of the Year).

The 2006 Out100 Awards event -- hosted by Justin Bond, co-star of John Cameron Mitchell's "Shortbus" -- was held at Capitale in New York on Nov. 10, 2006. For more information and reports from the event, visit the Out100 blog at http://blogs.planetout.com/out100/.
