Three LGBT-inclusive projects walked away with statuettes at The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Monday, January 15. All together, five LGBT-inclusive films and eight LGBT-inclusive television series or miniseries were nominated.

ABC's Ugly Betty took two honors at the Golden Globes: Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and star America Ferrera (Betty) won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Set in the offices of fashion magazine Mode, the family comedy features the gay character Marc (Michael Urie), assistant to creative director Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams).

Meryl Streep won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her turn as the demanding fashion editor Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. Miranda, too, has a gay fashion guru working for her, played by Stanley Tucci.

ABC's Grey's Anatomy took home the award for Best Television Series – Drama. Set in a Seattle hospital, the staff and interns regularly flock to Emerald City Bar, owned by gay bartender Joe (Steven W. Bailey).

Though the LGBT-inclusive films Little Miss Sunshine and Notes on a Scandal were nominated for several awards each, neither garnered any statuettes. Both movies featured a gay or lesbian character in a key role. Dreamgirls, directed by GLAAD Media Award honoree Bill Condon, won for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
