Over the past two years, GLAAD has had an important presence at the annual 2010 Sundance Film Festival by maintaining a dedicated space to celebrate and elevate the voices of filmmakers whose storytelling included the visibility and inclusion of the LGBT community. In 2010, GLAAD is excited to announce a partnership with the Sundance Institute and to unveil its new multi-day programmatic event, CineGLAAD.
GLAAD will continue to offer premiere networking opportunities, diverse educational panels and a comprehensive LGBT festival film schedule– all within the renowned 2010 Sundance Film Festival Filmmakers Lodge at 550 Main Street in downtown Park City, Utah.
While cineGLAAD is in the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Filmmaker Lodge, it will host three educational where LGBT filmmakers can learn best practices for sharing their important stories with the world.
Past guest speakers at GLAAD panels and press conferences have included some of the most established filmmakers and celebrity in Hollywood as well as emerging artists: Jim Carrey & Ewan McGregor (cast, I Love You Phillip Morris), Christine Vachon (producer, Boys Don’t Cry), Rob Epstein (Oscar-winning director, The Times of Harvey Milk), Lee Daniels & Gabby Sidibe (Director and cast of the acclaimed, Precious Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire).
