Over the past years, GLAAD has had an important presence at the annual Sundance Film Festival where we have maintained a dedicated space to celebrate and elevate the voices of filmmakers whose storytelling included the visibility and inclusion of the LGBT community. In 2010, GLAAD announced a partnership with the Sundance Institute and unveiled its new multi-day programmatic event, cineGLAAD.
This year, cineGLAAD offered premier networking opportunities, diverse educational panels and a comprehensive LGBT festival film schedule– all within the renowned 2010 Sundance Film Festival Filmmakers Lodge at 550 Main Street in downtown Park City, Utah.
Past guest speakers at GLAAD panels and press conferences have included some of the most established filmmakers and celebrities in Hollywood, as well as emerging artists, such as Jim Carrey & Ewan McGregor (cast, I Love You Phillip Morris), Christine Vachon (producer, Boys Don’t Cry), Rob Epstein (Oscar-winning director, The Times of Harvey Milk), Lee Daniels & Gabby Sidibe (Director and cast of the acclaimed, Precious Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire).
