George sends Tessa to New York to spend Christmas with her mom, thinking he is giving her the best present ever, but Tessa finds herself missing her dad and her little suburb. Meanwhile, Ryan learns he was adopted and Carly asks for Carmen for Christmas.

Dawson and Shay save a young girl whose mother was abusing her, but the mother resorts to dire actions for revenge.
