Watch the VMAs and root for some of your favorite LGBT artists

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards are this Sunday and several out artists are up for awards or will be performing. Sia has nabbed three nominations this year, of which two are for her "Chandelier" video. She will be competing in the Video of the Year category and the Best Choreography category. Sia is also nominated for her collaboration with another out artist, Angel Haze, in the Best Video With a Social Message category for "Battle Cry." Kesha is nominated along Pitbull in the Best Collaboration category for "Timber."

Newcomer Sam Smith received two nods for "Stay With Me" in the Best Male and MTV Artist to Watch categories. He will also be performing on Sunday.

Laverne Cox will join her Orange is the New Black co-stars Uzo Aduba and Taylor Schilling to present, as will outspoken LGBT ally Demi Lovato.

The VMAs will air live on MTV from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday at 9/8c.
