Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi joined MSNBC's Thomas Roberts to present the award for Outstanding Magazine Article at the GLAAD Media Awards in New York on Saturday.

Black Enterprise's "Black & Gay in Corporate America" by Carolyn M. Brown tied with Metro Weekly's "15th Anniversary of the Passage of the Defense of Marriage Act" (series) by Chris Geidner for the honor.

In her acceptance remarks, Brown quotes civil rights leader Bayard Rustin, saying "In every community, we need a group of angelic troublemakers" and adding, "For me, this is just the beginning."

Geidner emphasized the importance of LGBT media, saying "I appreciate that GLAAD was willing to look at the value that LGBT media brings to our discussions today."
