VIDEO: CeCe McDonald talks trans people with Laverne Cox on Democracy Now

CeCe McDonald visited the GLAAD office in New York City after telling the story of her attack and subsequent imprisonment to Democracy Now. CeCe was joined on Democracy Now by transgender actress and advocate Laverne Cox and Alisha Williams of the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. The hour-long segment was devoted to talking about the struggles faced by transgender women of color, who are disproportionally victims of violence, and often faced with significant legal challenges.

CeCe is in New York City with GLAAD to raise awareness for her story, violence facing trans women of color, and her upcoming documentary. You can read more about her documentary, producers Laverne Cox and Jac Gares, and support the film Free CeCe here.
