UPDATE: Suspects arrested in Atlanta MARTA attack on transgender women of color

In the investigation that followed the Atlanta MARTA attack of two transgender women of color on May 20, two men, Luther L. Thomas and Frederick Missick, have been arrested on charges of disorderly conduct. MARTA spokesperson, Lyle Harris, says they cannot file a more serious charge because the MARTA police lack sufficient help from victims and witnesses. The two suspects have been suspended from MARTA and are being detained at the Fulton County Jail on $2,500 bond.

     

The GA Voice reported:

Harris said MARTA’s Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity also plans to begin meeting with LGBT groups next week “to affirm the agency’s staunch support for the principles of tolerance, inclusion and equal treatment under the law.”
