Two Nights of ‘Quinceañera Times 2' with Monica Palacios

Two Nights of ‘Queer Chicana Soul’ with Monica Palacios

Lesbian Chicana writer and performer Monica Palacios is celebrating thirty years of groundbreaking work with the retrospective performance Queer Chicana Soul Oct. 12 and 13 at Highways in Los Angeles.

The event is described as “a quinceañera times 2 with live music, songs, same-sex marriage, prizes and premonitions, mariachi watusi and so much more.” Palacios has been bringing both visibility and laughs to audiences in LA and around the country since 1982. “As always, my work has to make a difference on this planet and I believe I have done this throughout my thirty-year career,” she writes. She’s influenced and inspired emerging Chicano, Latino, and LGBT writers and performers, and has received many honors, including Out Magazine’s “Out 100.”
