Tonight on Fusion launched last month by partners Univsion and ABC News, host Alicia Melendez interviews Shane Bitney Crone, the producer and subject of the documentary Bridegroom. The documentary shares the pain and promise of a love story between Shane and his late partner, Tom and the impact of anti-LGBT discrimination on Shane's ability to grieve for his loss after Tom dies accidentally. Melendez hosts a daily show at 7ET/4PT. Fusion has aired spots on Univision in English advertising to English-speaking young Latinos that watch programs alongside their Spanish-speaking family members. The channel is not just geared to Latinos but to the illusive millennials that drive current media trends. It will be interesting to see how the new channel covers the expansion of rights to undocumented immigrants, LGBT workers and LGBT families as the fights for comprehensive immigration reform, ENDA (the employment anti-discrimination act) and inclusive marriage laws are organized throughout this fall legislative season.
