A quarter million people join Jen Tyrrell to tell the Boy Scouts: Stop the discrimination
Over 250,000 people have joined Ohio mom Jen Tyrrell in telling the Boy Scouts of America to put an end to its long history of discrimination against LGBT scouts and leaders. GLAAD has helped share Jen’s story with media including The Associated Press, The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, and dozens of others. Sign Jen’s Change.org petition here.  Read more.

Cleveland radio station disciplines host after anti-gay comment advocating sexual violence
GLAAD called on Cleveland’s WMMS Radio to take action after host Dominic Dieter told a listener:
"You should get one of your friends to screw your daughter straight." In response to GLAAD’s call, Dieter issued an on-air apology and the station confirmed it would take disciplinary action. WMMS also agreed to air PSAs about the importance of parental acceptance. Read more.

Drawing attention to rising support among Latinos
GLAAD’s Spanish-Language Media team hosted a panel at the Hispanicize Conference in Miami recently, discussing growing levels of support among Latinos for LGBT people and issues. Following the panel, GLAAD’s Spanish-Language Media Director was interviewed by a reporter from Spanish syndicate EFE, the fourth largest news agency in the world, about new polls showing Latino support for LGBT issues and people.

New report finds disproportionate rates of anti-LGBT religious voices in the news
GLAAD recently released 'Missing Voices: A study of religious voices in Mainstream Media reports about LGBT equality'. The study found that that three out of every four people of faith called on to speak about LGBT issues in the media came from anti-LGBT traditions. The report was commissioned by GLAAD and conducted by the University of Missouri Center on Religion & the Professions and examines the religious voices presented in national news outlets in print and television on LGBT issues.
