Santa Barbara Police Investigating Anti-Gay Hate Crime

The Santa Barbara Independent reports that two men were victims of a brutal anti-gay attack on New Year's.  The paper posted a video of the attack and descriptions of the assailants.  Police are still investigating, and the police chief issued a statement saying, in part, “Hate crimes like these will not be tolerated and those responsible will be held accountable.”


One victim suffered a broken jaw and other serious head injuries.  The second victim had only minor injuries.
