More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
Santa Barbara Police Investigating Anti-Gay Hate Crime

The Santa Barbara Independent reports that two men were victims of a brutal anti-gay attack on New Year's. The paper posted a video of the attack and descriptions of the assailants. Police are still investigating, and the police chief issued a statement saying, in part, “Hate crimes like these will not be tolerated and those responsible will be held accountable.”
