Christians across the internet are blogging their faith and their support for LGBT people through a synchroblog project organized by Justin Lee, the Executive Director of the Gay Christian Network. The synchroblog is timed to match the launch of Lee’s new book, TORN: Rescuing the Gospel from the Gays-vs.-Christians Debate.
Over the coming days and weeks, pundits will be exploring what the 2012 election meant. One thing that is certain, the election demonstrated the days of LGBT people being invisible, or worse, a wedge issue, are over.
GLAAD is thrilled with this election's tremendous wins for LGBT Americans. President Barack Obama won re-election after becoming the first acting president to voice support for marriage equality. Voters in Maine and Maryland affirmed marriage for gay and lesbian couples. This is the first time that voters in any state voted in favor of marriage equality. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin also became the first out gay U.S. Senator.
