France seems poised to enact marriage equality very soon, and Pope Benedict XVI is going on the offensive in an attempt to block progress for LGBT people in that country. The Pope visited France, where he used his strongest language yet to oppose marriage equality. Lady Gaga was asked about the Pope’s comments.
The front page of the Sunday Style section of the New York Times features 22-year old biblical scholar Matthew Vines. Matthew, who’s YouTube video explaining the biblical case for LGBT equality, spoke at a GLAAD sponsored event, “Being Gay is Not a Sin: A Conversation with Matthew Vines” at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City. The event, and subsequent interview, detail Matthew’s coming out, rejection by his own congregation, and the video he created that has been viewed 350,000 times, are all included in the profile.
Usually, people opposed to bullying refrain from engaging in it, but not Linda Harvey. Recently, the known anti-LGBT crusader launched a youth-oriented anti-bullying flier. Only instead of filling it with information to encourage youth to be more accepting of diversity, she explains all the ways in which being LGBT is wrong and bad.
