Faith Leaders Get into the Spirit for Spirit Day

As Spirit Day approaches, the number of faith leaders and organizations going purple is growing. Organizations are reaching out to their members to encourage them to wear purple. Religious leaders of all stripes are speaking out against bullying in the lead up to Spirit Day.

Social Outreach Seattle Asks Washingtonians to Approve Marriage Equality

In addition to music videos and campaign ads that highlight faith, YouTube also has even more videos promoting marriage equality in Washington State. Social Outreach Seattle has begun releasing campaign ads urging Washington voters to approve Referendum 74, which would ensure marriage equality in the state.

Leading Catholic Theologian (and Colbert Report Chaplain) Supports #SpiritDay

James J. Martin, a leading Catholic theologian and Culture Editor of the Jesuit magazine America, has tweeted his support for Spirit Day. Millions of Americans will be wearing purple on October 19 to speak out against bullying and to show their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth.
