Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds Tie the Knot

Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell and her partner Michelle Rounds quietly married in June in a private ceremony in New York reports People.com. The couple announced their engagement in December 2011 and had planned on an August 2012 wedding date. Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare disease that affects three out of every million people, and the couple decided to move their wedding date up to June 9 before Rounds’ first surgery on June 14.

O’Donnell, who recently suffered a heart attack, shared the news on her blog.

"We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us," she wrote. "When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish." 

"Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times," she continues in the post. "Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi."

GLAAD congratulates the couple on their wedding and wishes them both the best of health and luck in their lives together.
