Ricky Martin changes lyrics from 'she' to 'he' during concert in Morocco

Out singer Ricky Martin surprised fans when he changed the "she" lyrics to "he" during a performance of his 1999 hit "She's All I Ever Had" at a music festival in Morocco. While the tweak was small, it was seen as a message of support for the LGBT people of Morocco, a country where being gay is punishable by imprisonment.

Check out a video of the performance below as Martin croons “It’s the way he makes me feel/It’s the only thing that’s real It’s the way he understands/He’s my lover, he’s my friend/When I look into his eyes it’s the way I feel inside /Like the man I want to be/He’s all I ever need.” You can also check out Ricky Martin speaking about LGBT equality at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2011 where he accepted the Vito Russo Award.

Martin's performance was part of the 13th Mawazine World Rhythms Festival which drew an audience of around 100,000 people. The festival is presided over by Mounir Majidi, the personal secretary of Moroccan King Mohammed VI.
