Report: Brooklyn Nets to sign Jason Collins for remainder of season

Multiple sources told ESPN.com that the Brooklyn Nets will sign Jason Collins for the remainder of the season. The sources say that the internal expectation all along was that Collins would be with the Nets for the rest of the season.

Collins has repeatedly said he wants the focus to be about basketball, not his sexual orientation. When asked about comparisons to Jackie Robinson, he said, "I'm just trying to be Jason Collins. What Jackie Robinson did for the sport of baseball and our society [is] tremendous. But I am just trying to be Jason Collins."
