More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
Reaching Out LGBT MBA Conference to go purple for #SpiritDay
This year, Reaching Out is partnering with GLAAD and taking a stand against bullying by going purple for #SpiritDay.
Reaching Out is the annual conference of LGBT graduate business school students. This year, 1,000 students, business leaders, and recruiters will gather from October 18th thru October 20th at the Seaport Hotel World Trade Center in Boston, MA focused on the theme, ‘Together, Building Community’.
During the conference, on October 19, Reaching Out will distribute purple ribbons to all of its participants in honor of #SpiritDay in a stand against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth.
This year, the Reaching Out conference presents a dynamic line-up of industry speakers including Dan Savage and workshop panelists representing all sectors of the business community, from finance and marketing to government and the arts. Fourteen years ago, Reaching Out MBA, Inc. launched to provide LGBT business school students with a resource to make connections with other LGBT students and business professionals. The 2012 Reaching Out LGBT MBA Conference provides future LGBT leaders from around the world the opportunity to network, learn, and improve their skills so they will emerge stronger and more confident in the business world. Leading businesses partner with the conference to show support for the LGBT community and recruit top level talent. For registration information, click here.
Join us and pledge to go purple on October 19th as we work to create a world in which LGBT teens are celebrated and accepted for who they are.
