"Out in the Open" Documentary Seeks Kickstarter Funding Help

Out in the Open is a new documentary project, featuring LGBT individuals and allies, that hopes to address at-risk youth who feel isolated because of their sexual orientation or have faced bullying, by sharing personal experiences of those who have been through many of the same things. The film is nearly complete, but Out director/actor Matthew Smith and his team at Real Stream Productions are hoping for Kickstarter funding help to cover the final wrap costs, editing and distribution of Out in the Open to the festival circuit. The film features interviews from politicians, celebrities, and everyday people, straight and gay, who celebrate the LGBT community. The wide range of interviews includes notable people like fashion guru Carson Kressley and Olympian Greg Louganis, who discuss how they coped with feeling isolated as they came to terms with being gay.

Visit the Out in the Open Kickstarter page for more information on how to help this film break down the closet door and to help LGBT youth feel confident to be Out in the Open.
