Ohio mom Jennifer Tyrrell was ousted as scout leader of her son's Boy Scouts troop simply because she's gay. Now, Jen is taking a stand and telling the Boy Scouts of America to end its long history of discrimination against LGBT youth and parents.

Today Jennifer and her 7 year-old son Cruz were interviewed by CNN:

A spokesperson for the Boy Scouts told CNN "Scouting, and the majority of parents it serves, does not believe it is the right forum for children to become aware of the issue of sexual orientation, or engage in discussions about being gay. Rather, such complex matters should be discussed with parents, caregivers, or spiritual advisers, at the appropriate time and in the right setting." But, as Jennifer told Kyra Phillips, her orientation had never been an issue during her time as Scout Leader. In fact, one parent from her troop said she wasn't even aware that Jennifer was gay, and other parents in her troop have said that they have only had to discuss the issue with their children because of the Boy Scouts' discriminatory action.
