When Michigan Governor Rick Snyder was asked "are you ready to expand state civil rights to include gays?", the governor dodged the question. When a follow up question was asked, Gov. Snyder "chuckled".
The Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce believes that if the General Assembly approves an amendment that would change the states constitution to define marriage to be only between a man and a woman, it will have a negative impact on the city’s business climate.
A Missouri state representative tweeted a photograph of a high school student wearing a t-shirt supporting the school's GSA with the caption "Nixa Schools failure. HS students working elementary school book fair in gay t-shirts".
In October of 2005 GLSEN held it's first Ally Week to celebrate Allies committed to ensuring safe and effective schools for all and to encourage students to take action. Eight years later, Ally Week continues to gain the support of both LGBT and straight student allies.
