More than discrimination and marriage: LGBT people in the news

Members of the media and public are invited to a new panel series exploring LGBT people in the news media. Actors Jason Stuart and Alexis Arquette will be joined by advocates and journalists including Lucas Grindley, Will Walters, Karen Ocamb, Joel Martens and Thom Senzee.

The event will explore the experience of being out as a journalist today, as well as reporting stories about, and creating entertainment content inclusive of LGBT people. The panelists will explore the following questions:

  • What is the responsibility of an LGBT journalist when it comes to a news organization’s LGBT coverage?
  • Has sexual orientation become a non-issue, an advantage?
  • A disadvantage?

The event will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 6:30pm PST at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood, California. Check out LAPressClub.org for more info
