Washington National Cathedral to Host Weddings for Gay and Lesbian Couples

Now that both Washington DC and Maryland have both legalized marriage for all loving couples, the National Cathedral, which is affiliated with the Episcopal Church, will perform weddings for gay and lesbian couples. The marriage rite for LGBT members was adopted by the Episcopal Church in 2012, though individual congregations can choose whether or not to implement it.

LGBT Ugandans Still Concerned about "Kill the Gays" Bill and Worsening Conditions

Uganda's "Kill the Gays" bill did not pass by the end of 2012, but it may be taken up again when the legislature reconvenes in February 2013. An LGBT advocate has been arrested for "acts of homosexuality" and has spent several days in jail. Leaders from Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) are gearing up for a January 7, when they will try to prevent Scott Lively from having their case against him dismissed. Lively's 2009 anti-LGBT conference in Uganda sparked worsening conditions for LGBT Ugandans.

GLAAD and thousands of New Yorkers gather to mourn victim of anti-gay hate violence

More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
