LGBTQ People: our health and healthcare

Strong Families a national partnership led by Forward Together have put together an online and print guide that people can use to help us make decisions that are right for us and our families.

Where to Start, What to Ask: A Guide for LGBT People Choosing Healthcare Plans includes sections on 1) Healthcare and the LGBT Community 2) Transgender Healthcare, 3) Reproductive Healthcare, 4) LGBT Kids/Youth and 5) Reporting Discrimination among others.

Valuing our health and ensuring that we all have access to quality and non-discriminatory health care are important parts of our struggle for LGBTQ rights and dignity.  March 31, 2014 is the last date to enroll in a healthcare plan and not incur a penalty.

You can take a look at the guide here.
