"Journey of the Gay Athlete": The story of 3 athletes sharing their story about sports and being gay

The "Journey of the Gay Athlete" documentary follows 3 professional athletes: Blake Skjellerup, Robbie Rogers and Brittney Griner who discuss the struggles they faced as gay-identified sports figures.

“I was always very sensitive to words “h**o’ and ‘f*g’,” soccer star Rogers remembers. “It’s quite a hard thing if you’re young and in sports and don’t have anyone to relate to,” speed skater Skellerup offers, while pro basketballer Griner reveals being asked if she was a boy or a girl.

The documentary will premiere on Saturday, January 11 on CNN International. Make sure to tune in to experience their journey.
