Next week, as the US Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the discriminatory 'Defense of Marriage Act' and California's Proposition 8, thousands will gather in Washington DC and at more than 150 events in every state around the country to show support for marriage equality. These vigils, marches and rallies will demonstrate that the country is ready for marriage equality.

GLAAD is very excited to participate in these events. We have staff in New York and Los Angeles, and we will be on the ground, tweeting, photographing, and calling on the media to witness the groundswell of support for marriage equality in both cities.

On Sunday, GLAAD's New York staff will gather at the Stonewall Inn at 1:00 pm with hundreds of other LGBT people and allies to participate in a march to Washington Square Park, where we will rally for marriage equality. The rally will feature music with Broadway and television star Titus Burgess, several political leaders, and everyday LGBT families. Click here to learn more about the New York rally.

On Tuesday night, GLAAD will also be present at the Inter-Faith Rally To Repeal DOMA at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah. People of faith will gather on the first day of Supreme Court hearings and the second night of Passover to show our support for the immediate repeal of DOMA. Click here to learn more about the New York Interfaith Rally.

Across the country on Sunday GLAAD's LA staff will be at the Los Angeles City Hall at 6:30 pm for a candlelight vigil in support of marriage equality. Speakers will include gay and lesbian families who will be impacted by the court's ruling, along with celebrities, elected officials, faith leaders and community activists.  Click here to learn more about the Los Angeles rally.

Not in New York or Los Angeles? You can still join one of more than 150 rallies in all 50 states around the country. Check out the United for Marriage web page to find an event near you. GLAAD will also be on the ground before the Supreme Court, as a part of the United for Marriage coalition.
