More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

During last night's Oscars telecast, retail giant J.C. Penney debuted five new commercials featuring America's favorite talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres. Watch the spots below, vote for your favorite at the bottom of this post and tell us what you think in the comments!

The new commercials come just weeks after the anti-gay group "One Million Moms," a project of the American Family Association – an organization the Southern Poverty Law Center designates as a hate group – demanded that J.C. Penney fire Ellen as the company's new spokesperson, simply because she's gay. Over 46,000 supporters joined GLAAD to #StandUpForEllen and ignite a national dialogue about employment discrimination. J.C. Penney later announced it "stands behind its partnership with Ellen."
