Jason Collins gets second 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will have offered Jason Collins, the first openly gay and active NBA player, a second ten-day contract. During his first contract with the Brooklyn Nets, Collins stepped out onto the court making history. He received a warm welcomed as the fans applauded the player. Collins also commemorated Matthew Shepard’s life by wearing number '98' jersey during his first game with the Nets. After the game, Collins met with Matthew’s family to honor the moment.
