Illinois Governor used Abraham Lincoln's desk to sign marriage equality bill

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed the state's Marriage Equality Bill into law. The signing drew several thousand people to witness the historic event. One report claims that Gov. Quinn signed the bill using President Abraham Lincoln's desk. The signing took place today at 3:30 pm Central Time at The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Forum. The historic moment was broadcast via live streaming video.

Prior to the event, Gov. Quinn stated, "I look forward to signing this landmark legislation on November 20 and celebrating a big step forward with the people of Illinois."
