'Happily Ever After': Gay Couple Gets Engaged on the CINDERELLA Stage

Kunal and Jason just majorly raised the bar for gay couples everywhere.  Not only did Kunal take his boyfriend to see Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, but he brought Jason on stage and popped the question with Broadway's resident royal court as witness.  Cheered on by both the audience and the CINDERELLA cast, Kunal gives a gushingly cute speech to the love of his life before getting down on one knee.  Check out the video below:

While CINDERELLA has featured other on-stage proposals before, both Kunal's courage and the audience's cheers say something pretty remarkable about Broadway's take on love and equality.  The producers of CINDERELLA made the following statement on hosting the gay couple's big moment:

"In our current production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA on Broadway on-stage proposals have been important to us from the beginning.  Kunal and Jason's story touched us because while love does conquer all, especially in CINDERELLA, so do generosity, acceptance and kindness.   We are so proud that CINDERELLA was able to provide a platform for Kunal to propose to the love of his life....may they live happily ever after."

No word yet on a wedding theme, but we'll keep an eye out for a pumpkin carriage.
