GLAAD's trans work spotlighted at #GLAADAwards in Los Angeles

GLAAD's trans work was spotlighted last night at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, held at the Beverly Hilton. Actress, writer, and producer Laverne Cox received GLAAD's Stephen F. Kolzak Award and was surprised by her mom Gloria. Supermodel Naomi Campbell spoke out in support of Carmen Carrera and the inclusion of trans models on runways and the recent Barney's print ad campaign featuring trans models and stories. Trans guests including Laverne Cox, Carmen Carrera, Chaz Bono, Ian Harvie, Andrea James, Calpernia Addams, Our Lady J, President of PUNY Entertainment Shadi Petosky, Charlize Toratani of the Los Angeles Transgender Film Festival, co-fonder of the Trans 100 Jen Richards, and B. Scott. GLAAD Board Members Jenny Boylan and Dr. Marci Bowers, and GLAAD's Senior Media Strategist Tiq Milan all walked the red carpet.

The 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards are presented nationally by Ketel One Vodka, Wells Fargo, and Hilton Worldwide. The Los Angeles event is presented locally by Delta Air Lines and Bud Light.
