GLAAD partners with Outfest for screening of "Bridegroom" documentary; exclusive ticket discount for GLAAD readers

GLAAD is proud to announce our partnership with the 2013 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival for a screening of the documentary Bridegroom on Saturday, July 13 at 1:30 pm in DGA 1. GLAAD readers can receive $1 off their tickets by ordering over the phone at 213-480-7065 and mentioning GLAAD. Tickets are also available online here (discount does not apply).

Bridegroom, directed and produced by Linda Bloodsworth-Thomason (Designing Women), recounts the love story of Shane Bitney Crone and his partner Tom Bridegroom and, through video footage and interviews, puts a spotlight on the discrimination faced by Shane in the wake of Tom's tragic death due to the lack of marriage protections for same-sex couples. The project started as a viral video Shane posted to YouTube, "It Could Happen to You," on the anniversary of Tom's death, which has since received nearly 4 million views. Tom and Shane's powerful love story puts a spotlight on the need for legal recognition of the love and commitment same-sex couples share. Watch the Bridegroom trailer below.

Bridegroom made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April where it was introduced by former President Bill Clinton and received the Heineken Audience Award. Get an exclusive GLAAD reader discount for the Outfest Los Angeles Bridegroom screening on Saturday, July 13 by purchasing your tickets over the phone at 213-480-7065 and mentioning GLAAD.
