'Days of Our Lives' couple Will and Sonny to be married in three day TV event

Congratulations to Days of Our Lives' fan favorite couple Will and Sonny! The couple will be married in a ceremony spanning three consecutive episodes starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1. Will and Sonny's wedding will be the first for a gay male couple on a U.S. daily drama; in 2009, ABC's All My Children featured the first same-sex marriage on an American soap with the wedding of Bianca Montgomery and Reese Williams. Check out a preview of the Days of Our Lives special wedding event below.

Will and Sonny announced their engagement in the series' recent Valentine's Day episode. Freddie Smith – who plays Sonny – said of their relationship development: "When I found out they were finally getting engaged, I was thrilled. Will and Sonny have been a power couple for two years now, and in the town of Salem, people don’t usually stay together that long, so they’re doing something right. It’s definitely time."

Their storyline has helped Days of Our Lives garner several Daytime Emmys and two GLAAD Media Awards. Tune in to Days of Our Lives for Will and Sonny's wedding starting tomorrow on NBC; check your local station for time.
