More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

Out performer Neil Patrick Harris has been confirmed as host of this year’s Tony Awards, marking his third time in the role.
Last year Harris kicked off the Tony Awards with a musical number entitled "Not Just for Gays Anymore.” In fact it was a particularly LGBT-inclusive show, with additional performances from Priscilla Queen of the Desert and multiple wins for Larry Kramer’s HIV/AIDS drama The Normal Heart.
Nominees will be announced on May 1 and Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the three-hour ceremony at New York City's Beacon Theatre on June 10. The 2012 Tony Awards will be broadcast live (ET/PT time delay) on CBS from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.
