More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
Community Giving: Cast Your Vote for Equality
Chase Community Giving is hosting an online contest where your vote can direct funds to organizations working to promote LGBT equality.
Through the program, Chase will give more than $3 million to organizations across the country. Each person has 10 votes to cast, and the top 100 organizations will receive funding. All voting takes place on Facebook. To search for charities and cast your vote, visit https://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities.

A team of statewide equality groups have joined up to form an Equality Slate. Ten LGBT equality groups are asking for your 10 votes. If they stay in the top 100, the groups will split $250,000 to support their LGBT equality work. The groups include:
Project 515 (Equality Minnesota)
Mass Equality
Equality Utah
One Colorado
Equality Ohio
Promo
Equality Rhode Island
Equality Texas
Fair Wisconsin
Equality Pennsylvania
