Beekman Boys Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge are getting married this week! Here’s what they had to say about The Supreme Court striking down DOMA and dismissing Proposition 8.

"We're thrilled that the Supreme Court has struck down DOMA and dismissed California's Prop 8 appeal. As we prepare for our own wedding, we hear the basis for the court's ruling in the unanimous congratulatory wishes of our neighbors in our small, rural, politically conservative village. Our neighbors prove that cultural values are indeed shifting, as they inevitably have, towards the basic intrinsic American values of freedom, inclusion, and equality."

Kilmer-Purcell and Ridge purchased their farm, Beekman 1802, in 2007 and quickly began producing their own soap, cheese and other goods. They launched a website and started hosting seasonal festivals attended by thousands from all around the globe. When Planet Green, a branch of Discovery Networks, noticed the Beekman farm, the reality TV show The Fabulous Beekman Boys was born. The Cooking Channel is re-airing the series. Kilmer-Purcell and Ridge also won the grand prize on CBS’s The Amazing Race in 2012.

Another well known television couple, The Real L Word stars Nikki Weiss-Goldstein and Jill Goldstein, married two years, are ecstatic about the Supreme Court decisions.

"Our hearts are overflowing today as justice and equality rightfully prevail. We are elated to be on the right side of history. And unbelievably proud of our dad who did his part in opening up hearts and minds towards what matters most, love."

Nikki and Jill recently starred in a commercial for Expedia, in which a father travels to his daughter's wedding to another woman. The commercial is running on major networks like CNN and MSNBC, demonstrating support to couples seeking rights to marry.
