On the anniversary of Tom Bridegroom's death watch the heartbreaking documentary 'Bridegroom' #taptaptap

Today marks the three-year anniversary of Tom Bridegroom's death. His partner, Shane Bitney Crone is asking people to watch Bridegroom, the GLAAD Media Award-winning documentary about their love and the discrimination faced by Shane in the wake of Tom's tragic death due to the lack of marriage protections for same-sex couples. The project started as a viral video Shane posted to YouTube, "It Could Happen to You," which has since received over 4.7 million views.

For this year's anniversary, Shane created a Facebook event and is asking people to post pictures and videos of their viewing parties and share their stories on the page. To join in, use the hashtags #taptaptap and #BridegroomMovie. Watch the trailer below.

Last month the film received a GLAAD Media Award in the Outstanding Documentary category, tying with the film Call Me Kuchu. Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o presented the award to both films.

Bridegroom is available on Amazon, iTunes, and Netflix.
