America Ferrera talks LGBT rights, immigrant rights, Latino power and Chavez

Watch America Ferrera in this interview on NBC Latino's Cafecito. She frames the struggle for rights and equality for LGBT people and undocumented immigrants as signs that the country is going in the right direction. She talks about the potential for increased Latino power at the polls if the communities increase their participation. She will be playing Helen Chavez in the upcoming film depicting the life and work of Cesar Chavez, the iconic labor rights leader and ally to the LGBT community, in theatres this Spring 2014. Dolores Huerta co-founder of United Farmworkers continues to push these issues forward and also continues to be a great ally in the struggle for LGBT rights and equality.
