Ally Marsha Aizumi to Speak at LGBT Center in NYC This Friday

This Friday, March 30, LGBT advocate and ally Marsha Aizumi will be speaking at “Asian American Parents Who Love Their Queer Kids,” an event being held at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City. Marsha is the author of the upcoming memoir, Two Spirits, One Heart, which explores her journey toward embracing her transgender son Aiden. She was also recently elected to the National Board of Parents, Family and Friends for Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). Both Marsha and Aiden Aizumi have spoken with GLAAD about their respective work as advocates for the LGBT community, particularly their commitment to helping LGBT youth.

Friday night’s event is free and will begin at 6:00 pm in Room 302 at The Center, located at 208 West 13th Street in Manhattan. Sponsors include the National Queer Asian and Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA), Q-WAVE, and Gay Asian and Pacific Islander Men of New York (GAPIMNY). GLAAD encourages those in the New York area to attend this event and hear firsthand Marsha’s moving story of opening her heart and learning the meaning of unconditional love.
