Retired NFL Player Wade Davis Comes Out to the Public

Former pro football player Wade Davis publicly announced yesterday that he is gay. The 34-year-old cornerback who played with Tennessee Titans, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Washington Redskins spoke with Outsports and SB Nation about being a gay athlete and his current work with disenfranchised lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, and non-conforming youth.

Violence Against Transgender People and People of Color is Disproportionately High, LGBTQH Murder Rate Peaks

The murder rate of people who are LGBTQH is at its highest, according to a recently released 2011 report from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs. The report also shows that transgender women, people of color, and youth and young adults are at a disproportionately high risk of being victims of what the NCAVP terms hate violence.

Study Shows Stereotypes about Bisexuality are Harmful

Stereotypes about bisexuality are both unfounded and quite literally unhealthy, according to studies recently published in the Journal of Bisexuality. The studies show that the bisexual community is diverse and subject to discrimination from gay and straight people alike, which negatively impacts the health and social lives of people who identify as bisexual.
