ABC Family releases new The Fosters #loveislove graphics in honor of Supreme Court decisions

ABC Family’s new drama The Fosters, from executive producer Jennifer Lopez and creators Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (Queer as Folk), about a "multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms" has released two new graphics in honor of the Supreme Court decisions on the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" or DOMA and Proposition 8.

Yesterday, in a landmark victory for equality, the United States Supreme Court struck down DOMA, a law that prohibited the federal government from recognizing legally married same-sex couples. In a 5 to 4 ruling, the Court determined that Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment. In a 5-4 vote, the Court also denied standing in Hollingsworth v Perry, which challenged the constitutionality of California's anti-gay Proposition 8 or Prop. 8, a statewide ban on marriage equality.  The decision will restore marriage equality in California.

Tune in to new episodes of The Fosters every Monday night at 9/8c, only on ABC Family.
