GLAAD today applauded the list of nominees for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, which was among the most LGBT-inclusive list in Emmy history. Laverne Cox became the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy in an acting category. Cox received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sophia Burset in the hit Netflix Original Series 'Orange is the New Black.'

In a historic first, New York-area Boy Scouts will be among the groups leading 14,000 people down Manhattan's 5th Avenue on Sunday at the 44th Annual NYC Pride March, where they will speak out against the Boy Scouts of America's discriminatory ban on gay adults.
The LGBT Sports Coalition -- a group of organizations (including GLAAD), athletes, sports professionals, and advocates working to end anti-LGBT bias in sports -- debuted the first in its 'Move Forward' video series this week. The series, produced in collaboration with Nike, will showcase the movement to bring full equality to all levels of sport.

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a group dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry while seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society, has joined GLAAD and Scouts for Equality in urging Amazon to end its support of the Boy Scouts of America through the company's charitable giving program, AmazonSmile.
Despite the company's non-discrimination policy, Amazon is standing by its support of the anti-gay Boy Scouts of America. GLAAD will join gay Eagle Scout Pascal Tessier and ousted gay Scoutmaster Geoff McGrath in delivering more than 120k petitions calling on Amazon to pause its support.
