—Said marriage “should be restricted to one man, one woman” based on a “cultural and religious and political and legal standpoint.” (Marriage comments come at 3:00 mark.)
—Called President Obama’s announcement that his administration would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act “a form of dictatorship” and called the president himself “Mubarak Obama” (a reference to former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak).
—Tweeted a homophobic “joke” about a noted women’s rights activist.
—Wrote that judges like one who overturned California’s ban on marriage equality are “doing the legal equivalent of lifting their black robes and flashing us.”
—Insisted “Islam is no mere religion” and suggested “we fight this war the way we fought the Nazis.”
—Claimed President Obama is not really African-American, saying “this guy is campaigning as black and painting anybody who dares to criticize him as a racist. I mean, that is—it is the biggest con I think I’ve ever seen.”
—Suggested Vladimir Putin should hack into Hillary Clinton’s emails.
—Called climate change “a massive wealth distribution scheme” and an effort to “turn the Earth into God and [replace] God.”
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
