"Weigh It Forward" (Philadelphia Gay News)
In January of 2012, four community members in Pennsylvania set a goal to lose weight in order to raise money for their community’s LGBT non-profit organizations and spark a discussion about health and wellness in the local LGBT community. After having their final weigh in at Philadelphia’s Pride in June, together the group raised critical funds for local organizations including Philly Pride Presents: The Attic Youth Center as well as the William Way LGBT Community Center. Working closely to speak out about health issues in the Philadelphia Gay News, the four individuals who participated in this journey resembled strength and courage to the LGBT community, and inspiration to their community as a whole.
