LGBT Pride 2012 (American Apparel)

American Apparel launched a line of t-shirts for LGBT Pride month and worked with GLAAD to cast the company’s first transgender models in a national ad campaign. Following the launch of digital ads and a LGBT Pride section on American Apparel’s Facebook and web sites, American Apparel worked with GLAAD to share the story of transgender model Isis King, who posed in the campaign. The accompanying earned media attention in fashion and mainstream press spotlighted not only American Apparel’s dedication to LGBT Pride month, but resulted in positive visibility for the talents of transgender models like Isis.
