The GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising elevate and promote advertising which includes fair, accurate and inclusive images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, people and allies and that have increased awareness, understanding and respect for the lives of LGBT people. The GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories of LGBT people and issues that build support for equality.
Eligibility Period: To be considered for the 2nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising, an ad must have been printed, broadcast, appeared online or exhibited outdoors in the United States between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
Submission Deadline: Materials must be received in the Los Angeles GLAAD office by Friday, July 30, 2010 at 6 p.m. PT.
Must an ad be submitted in order to be nominated? GLAAD monitors advertising on a year-round basis as part of our Advertising Media Program. This monitoring provides a pool of potential nominees for the volunteer Jury to review. The volunteer Jury may choose to nominate ads with LGBT content even if the ad is not submitted.
Nominees announced: Nominees will be announced on August 18, 2010.
Award Recipients announced: Award recipients will be announced at the 2nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising event scheduled for September 29, 2010.
HOW TO SUBMIT
Download an entry form and mail it with supporting materials to GLAAD. You may not submit online, via e-mail or fax. Further details about submitting an entry are provided on the entry form itself. Download the Submission Form with instructions.
Please note that for each submission you must include a separate entry form and a $50 processing fee payable to GLAAD.
