By airing the series, National Geographic Channel has stepped into a uniquely influential role as a strategic business partner of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The show is being used to market the BSA to young people, but fails to inform viewers about the organization's dangerous anti-gay policy. November 14 – 20 individuals and organizations around the country will participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming people, and address the issues the community faces.

Since the Supreme Court hearings, three more states have passed marriage equality, bringing the total number to 12, plus the District of Columbia. Clearly, the momentum is on the side of marriage equality.
